SYDNEY LOEW
Sydney is a fashion and textile designer with a BFA in fashion design from Parsons School of Design. She focuses on conceptualizing and creating innovative ideas through textile, color, shape, and narrative. She believes that design allows for opportunity to change and reflect on the current world we live in.
Her thesis, Sensation, Texture, and Emotion explored very critical social issues. In response to the current mental health epidemic and increased rates of stress and anxiety, Sydney researched tactile therapy, searching for the power that textiles have to soothe and protect. Through repurposing a majority of the materials, Sydney created a sustainable collection of interior products, garments, an installation, and a film that come together to create a conversation and promote tactile therapy and the importance of touch.
Sydney constantly seeks various opportunities around her and has held multiple positions in the fashion industry. Additionally, she studied at Central Saint Martins in 2016, gaining insight into fashion in a global context.
